WWL Features Barman’s Fund NOLA & A Child’s Wish
As a non-profit organization, we’re continually amazed at the things people will do in order to help make wishes true for critically ill Louisiana children. Whether it’s arranging for special rides in limos, lining up visits with local superstars like Drew Brees, or donating hard earned money to help fund a trip to Disney World, the charity of our local community is amazing.
One of the groups we’re proud to receive support from is Barman’s Fund NOLA, a group of bartenders who volunteer to donate their tips once a month to send money and supplies to charities.
This video features the story of how Barman’s Fund NOLA donations helped make possible a special trip to Disney for Brandon Alexander, a local three year old boy was born with a rare childhood kidney cancer.

Local kids donate lemonade stand proceeds to A Child’s Wish
Who says kids can’t make a difference?
Don’t tell that to Hanna and Emma, two young ladies who spent an entire day raising money for A Child’s Wish by selling lemonade! This was their second year doing this, and they set a new personal record of $250 which was a wonderful gift to our organization.
Hannah’s mother, Trish, heard of the organization from Board member Mike McMyne and was so moved by our program that she recommended A Child’s Wish as the girls non-profit benefactor. Both girls are Honor students and Emma likes gymnastics and Hannah love to dance. We all salute their warm and giving hearts as they share the fruits of their hard work.
On the left is Hannah Kraus and on the right is her best friend Emma Walsdorf. Both are 4th graders at St Rita’s School in River Ridge.
