Amarion’s Wish:
An Afternoon with New Orleans Hornets Head Coach Monty Williams
New Orleans Hornets Head Coach Monty Williams spent an afternoon at Children’s Hospital on Wednesday, July 26th to make 8 year old Amarion Lee’s wish come true!
A Hornets fan, Amarion and his father Terrance, mother Ashley and brothers, Darrel and Terrious were overwhelmed by the love and kindness shown by Hornets coach and senior management, Harold Kaufman.
Coach Monty presented 2 signed basketballs and a first of it’s kind #23 shirt from #1 draft pick and Olympic team member, Anthony Davis. He also donated a back pack, a signed team cap, souvenier cups, key chains, sunglasses and many, many more team collectables.
But nothing could match the warm and generous gift of the coaches time and love. A father of 5, Coach Monty clearly understands the blessings of an NBA career and having healthy children. He entertained the Children’s Hospital social services staff and doctors and treated everyone to a wonderful lunch.
With Coach Monty’s spirit of giving and his commitment to his community, the Hornets are definitely headed in the right direction.

A Testimonial About A Child’s Wish from the Staff at Children’s Hospital:
You have always been such a pleasure to work with, and you continually go above and beyond what has been requested of you — as we have witnessed again today! So sorry the peculiar situation required my absence, but the others shared with me how wonderful this was for our boy, and how touched they all were with the whole affair!
Thanks so much again for this most meaningful experience for our precious patient, his family, and all of us!! Please give the Hornets and all the others our appreciation as well!!!
Love,
Kay – Children’s Hospital New Orleans
