Volunteer

A Child’s Wish offers many opportunities to help a Louisiana child – whether it’s a few hours per month or a few days each year.

Some of our volunteer needs include:

  • Wish Coordinator – Work with our children and their families to help organize and fulfill their wishes.
  • Wish Granters – Work with businesses and other organizations to locate the resources needed to fulfill each wish.
  • Videographer / photographer – We are always in need of skilled video and photography to help preserve the memories created by our children.
  • Committee members – Choose to serve on a particular committee, depending on your interests and abilities.
  • Board members
  • Fundraising

Volunteer FAQ

When does A Child's Wish meet?

We have bimonthly meetings, held on the second Tuesday of every other month at 6:45 PM. We either host digital Zoom meetings or meet in-person at our headquarters located at 608 Clearview Parkway in Metairie, Louisiana.

Open membership

Membership is open to anyone who is interested in helping make the wish come true for a child with a life-threatening illness. Volunteers must be willing to attend monthly meetings and respect the by-laws and charter of A Child's Wish.

Are there dues? How much?

All members are requested to pay annual dues amounting to $15 for an individual membership and $25 for a family membership. Other types of memberships are also available.
