Spend a day at Saints Training Camp with Jabari Greer

Paul is like many boys in New Orleans looking forward to a great season rooting for his favorite team – the New Orleans Saints.  But this year for Paul will be different.  In June, doctors found a lump on his  neck which has changed his life forever.

Paul’s wish was to meet one of his favorite players – Saints star cornerback Jabari Greer.  Jabari is such a class act and has helped A Child’s Wish in the past, so he didn’t hesitate to take time out of his pre-season routine to host Paul and his mother Melinda for a day at Saints camp.  When it was all done, Jabari’s response helped breathe new outlook into a tough 7 weeks of treatment ahead for Paul and showed him that he isn’t alone in his battles.

Paul has another dozen chemo treatments  going forward, but having his hero Jabari spend time and share his day will insure that Paul’s attitude going forward will be a key factor to a positive outcome.

Since 1982, A Child’s Wish of Louisiana has met over 1,000 families and raised their spirits because of the kindness shown in the darkest hours. I am grateful that Mark made the intro. And I hope that we can be  blessed with future opportunities to do this for other families in the future.
