Bella’s Super Special Shopping Spree
Although Bella Jackson has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma stage 2A, she is just like many other 13-year-old girls in that she just loves shopping! So when she and her family contacted A Child’s Wish, they told us how much young Bella would enjoy a day at the mall to buy new clothes following her treatment. But Bella didn’t just get a regular shopping day…she was granted a day-long shopping spree!
Bella, who lives in Folsom, chose the Edgewater Mall, located in Biloxi, MS. Before they hit the shops, Bella and her mother Amy and her big sister Emily began their special day with a fantastic lunch at Sumo Japanese Steakhouse, enjoying a sushi and hibachi lunch in a private room. Then they took a limo, provided by Blue Eyes Taxi and Limo Service, to the Edgewater Mall, which welcomed the Jackson family in style, displaying Bella’s name on the outside marquis, a wheelchair to make her shopping day more comfortable and a $100 gift card to the arcade!
The first stop was Bella’s favorite shop, Bella Rose Boutique, where they had a custom cookie made for her and balloons to provide a special welcome. They also arranged a very special surprise guest, Miss Mississippi USA, Bailey Mae Anderson, who not only gave Bella a crown, but also helped her shop.
Other stops included Victoria’s Secret, where Bella picked out adorable matching loungewear outfits for herself and her sister; Bath and Body Works, where staff gave her a gift card and a very generous customer offered to pay for Bella’s purchases! She also shopped at Journey’s and Footlocker, where Bella picked out two pairs of shoes and even a gift for her brother. Bella and her family wrapped up their shopping day at Dillard’s, which presented Bella with a very generous gift bag from the cosmetic counters, including full sized designer fragrances! She also received a complimentary pair of Ray Ban sunglasses and some amazing boots.
